New Director General at Norad from 2020

Mr. Bård Vegar Solhjell was appointed new Director General at Norad by the Government on Friday 8th of November.

Mr. Solhjell comes from a position as Secretary General of WWF Norway, a position he has held since 2018.

Mr. Solhjell has previously served as Minister of Environment (2012-2013) and Education (2007-2009), State Secretary at the Prime Minister's office (2005-2007), member of Parliament and Party Secretary for the Socialist Left Party.

Mr. Solhjell is appointed as Director General in the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) by the Norwegian Government for a fixed-term contract for four years with effect from January 1st 2020.

Bård Vegar Solhjell succeeds former Norad Director General Mr. Jon Lomøy.
