Norad’s Governance and Public Finance Portfolio was established in 2022 and builds on three knowledge programmes; Tax for Development and Statistics and Registry data for Development and Governance and anti-corruption. It also includes support to improve public finance management.

The overall goal for the portfolio is for developing countries to increase public revenue through improving tax systems and reducing revenue loss from corruption and illicit financial flows while also improving systems for alignment of spending toward sustainable development goals.

The portfolio improves results through better use of knowledge, enabling improved decision-making, strengthening strategic partnerships and synergies between i) results areas and ii) between partners at global and national levels. This is the first periodic review report on the Governance and Public Finance Portfolio and was developed for the annual portfolio analysis.
