10:45 - 11:15 Good intentions, detrimental effects: Why foreign aid experts harm young democracies.  

Dr. Susanne Koch is researcher and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany, and research associate of the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST), Stellenbosch University, South Africa. 

Comments for discussion: Professor Stig Jensen, Centre of African Studies, University of Copenhagen. Jensen is former director of the Center of African Studies, University of Copenhagen with a PhD in Geography. 

11:15 - 12:00  What do we actually do when we undertake capacity development? Power of knowledge in collaborative projects.  

Lene Møller Madsen, professor at the Department of Science Education of Copenhagen University, where she has worked with a number of the Danish projects on capacity building in both West and East Africa. 

Hanne Kirstine Adriansen is professor at Department of Education, Aarhus University.
