The world is not on track to reach SDG7. According to the SDG7 Energy progress report 2020, access to clean cooking solutions should have increased by 3% every year since 2010 to reach universal access by 2030.

The reality is far from this: Between 2010 and 2018, increase in access was about 0.8% annually. In Africa the situation is particularly severe – while there has been significant progress in Asia since 2010, the number of people who lack access to clean cooking in Africa is growing.

Determining which solutions can accelerate progress towards SDG7 on clean cooking is urgent.

What role can LPG, if any, play in this effort? In 2020, Norad commissioned Multiconsult to study the potential of LPG in developing countries. The results from the study will be presented at the webinar, as well as perspectives from various players in the sector, including development agencies, governments and representative from private sector. The discussion will be moderated by Mr. Petter Nore from Norad.

A zoom link will be shared with those registered in the morning of Thursday January 7.
